Sunday Prayer -- Please Keep In Mind

Matthew 22: 34 - 40

"But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sad'ducees, they came together. And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, to test him. Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets."

Dearest Father who is always Just and who is slow to anger and merciful to all who seek you. Look not upon our sins but hear our prayer for Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarrah Palin that our country choose rightly in this election and that your will be done. We ask heavenly Father that you give unto our Country change for the good and we trust in you. Regardless of the outcome of this election, we will has a people, strive to live by these words of your beloved son. For the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us all and on the whole world.

No idle word should be uttered. I understand a word to be idle when it serves no good purpose, either for myself or for another, and was not intended to do so.

-- St. Ignatius of Loyola

The highest degree of meekness consists in seeing, serving, honoring, and treating amiably, on occasion, those who are not to our taste, and who show themselves unfriendly, ungrateful, and troublesome to us.

-- St. Francis de Sales
