From Lt. Col. R.B. Thieme Jr., Retired Army Air Corps; RB Thieme Jr., Bible Ministries

Father, as we fellowship in the Word, we recognize the many divine mandates that have been given to us. We recognize Heavenly Father, that we are mandated to pray for those who have been given authority over us, and we remember them at this moment. We remember the President of the United States in a transition period, and we remember the President-elect in a preparation period, that this might be a profitable time for both. We remember that the President-elect has tremendous responsibility, and we pray he might have wisdom and we might have understanding of the trends of history.

We pause to thank You that Jesus Christ controls history. As long as the United States of America stands as a client nation to God, we as believers have a special responsibility to be supportive through our spiritual lives so this nation might be blessed by association from You. We recognize our personal responsibility to stand fast in the Word of God and not be distracted by any recent events, whether we like them or not. Our state of tranquility from Bible Doctrine, open to each of us under equal privilege and equal opportunity, will carry us on to spiritual victory. We recognize our personal responsibility to never hinder, hurt, or judge anyone, regardless of our personal opinions. We leave all judgment to the Supreme Court of Heaven.

Therefore, Father, we pray that we might be challenged to leave matters in Your hands, to move on with our lives, and to allow the Supreme Court of Heaven to rule in our lives. Keep us from being a hindrance to Your infallible judgments. Give us the wisdom to utilize the times in which we live for evangelism, for spiritual growth, for the fulfillment of the very purpose for which we are sustained logistically. Keep us from complaining or criticizing everything that comes our way instead of recognizing that You, Heavenly Father, have caused all things to work together for good for those who love God and are elected on the basis of Your predetermined plan.

We pause to thank You that You remember us in a very special way; and that God the Holy Spirit is making intercession for us with “groanings which cannot be uttered”; and that at this moment our Lord Jesus Christ, as our Great High Priest, is making intercession for us at Your throne. Father, it is time for us to leave matters of history in Your hands and not to get in the way, but to get out of the way by growing in Grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever.” Amen (Jude 1.24-25)
